Frequently asked Q & A about returning to in-clinic therapy

Quick Counseling posted and updated 6 months ago

Here are some frequently asked questions and answers that we have comprised of the main concerns taken from our recent survey to clients.  If you are an existing client please feel free to complete the survey we are still interested in your feedback.

Q: Will I be able to go into therapy with my child?

A:  Yes. This will not change. We do request that only one parent attend at a time and please, no siblings at this time. We will not be opening the waiting room at this time. If you do not plan to go in with your child, we ask that you wait in your car or go for a walk.

Q:  Will my child be required to wear a mask?

A:  That will be up to you and your child’s tolerance. The therapists may be wearing a mask and or a face shield or both. There may be plexiglass (in progress) shields on tables in clinic rooms. We do request that all adults wear a mask.

Q:  How will everything be disinfected?

A:  We will be cleaning rooms and toys between each client. I know many of the children like the different lycra swings we have in the clinic and the therapists will decide each day, which child might benefit most from those swings. We will be using UV lights to disinfect those swings and as a result, they may not be available for every session.

Q:  How do I know other families are following the rules?

A:  We are still working out the details of your time spent in the clinic. We have 4 different doors to access our space and we plan on limiting you and your child’s interactions with others while you are in the clinic.

Q: What will the therapists be doing to limit their exposure?

A:  All therapists will be screened each morning and we will be taking temperatures each day. They may also be wearing a mask and/or a face shield during the session. They will also be spaced at 6 feet or more while they are doing any documentation etc. between clients. They will also be cleaning the clinic rooms between each client.

Q:  Can I still have Telehealth visits instead of in-clinic visits?

A:  Yes, if your insurance continues to allow Telehealth visits, you can continue to have therapy delivered through this platform. You can also continue with Telehealth and pay out of pocket if your insurance stops covering these visits.
