Privacy Policy
This site has no accounts, no payments and one form. Most of what follows is about the three measurement tools that watch how the pages are used, and how to switch them off.

In four sentences
- There is nothing to sign up for. The only form is the one a listed therapist uses to take their own page down.
- Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity run on every page. Clarity replays your visit as a recording, including which therapists you looked at.
- We never hold health information, payment details or anything you say to a therapist. None of that reaches this site.
- We sell nothing, we run no advertising, and we set no advertising cookies.
Everything above is stated precisely below. Where the two differ, the sections govern.

Who is responsible
Quick Counseling publishes this website and is the controller of the small amount of personal data it handles. Write to 651 N Broad St, Suite 201, Middletown, Delaware 19709, United States, or email support@quickcounseling.com.
This policy covers quickcounseling.com and nothing else. It does not cover BetterHelp. Once you follow one of our links you are on their site, under their policy and their terms, and nothing we say here applies to what happens next.
We also publish makertherapy.com, a separate directory drawing on the same public roster. It has its own privacy policy. The two sites do not share data about you and neither one carries a record of what you did on the other.
What reaches us, and how
Because you sent it
Two things, and they are the only two.
- An email you write to us - the address it came from and whatever is in it, for as long as the conversation is worth keeping.
- The removal form on a therapist's page. It asks for a name, an email address and a reason chosen from three options. Submitting it takes that listing down immediately and sends what you typed to our support address so a person can read it and reply.
The removal form is rate-limited to one request per internet address per day, so that it cannot be used to empty the directory. What we store for that is a one-way hash of the address, a secret and the date - not the address. It cannot be turned back into an IP, and it is meaningless the next day.

Session recording, plainly
Microsoft Clarity is the most intrusive thing on this site and it gets its own section for that reason.
It records how a page is used - where the pointer goes, what is scrolled past, what is clicked, how long the visit lasts - and lets us replay that afterwards, like a screen recording reconstructed from those events. It is how we find out that a filter is confusing or that a button is being missed.
On a directory of therapists that recording necessarily shows which clinicians you looked at, which subjects you filtered by and which state you chose. We think you should know that before deciding whether to allow it, which is why it is not buried in a table.
It captures interaction, not identity. There is no name, no email and no account attached, because this site holds none of those. Clarity assigns a random identifier so that several pages within one visit join up.
It stops recording entirely when the browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, and Microsoft publishes its own opt-out. See the section on switching it all off.
What never reaches us
- Health information of any kind. We are not a healthcare provider and hold no clinical records.
- Anything you say to a therapist. That happens on another company's platform, under their policy.
- Payment details. No money changes hands on this site.
- Account credentials, because there are no accounts.
- Anything about children. This site is for adults looking for adult therapy.
We are not a HIPAA covered entity and we do not handle protected health information. The therapists listed here have their own obligations, which are nothing to do with this site.
The data on the therapists themselves
This is the part most privacy policies on directories leave out, and it is the part a therapist reading this actually wants.
Every profile is built from two public sources: the roster BetterHelp publishes, and the state licensing registers. Name, credential, licence text, state, subjects, methods and biography are reproduced as published. We add nothing biographical from anywhere else, and we do not buy, merge or enrich this data from any third party.
We also keep a record OF OUR OWN READING: which days each profile appeared on the roster and whether it said the therapist was accepting clients. That is what the 30-day availability strip on each profile is. It is a record of what a public listing said on a given day, not an observation of anybody's working life, and it is why a profile can say a listing was open on one date and full on another.
There are no reviews or ratings anywhere on this site, and no way to leave one. Nothing here is an opinion about a named clinician.

Cookies
The site itself sets none. It has no login, no basket and no preference to remember, so there is nothing for a first-party cookie to hold.
Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity set their own, and Cloudflare may set one to tell human traffic from automated traffic. Blocking all three costs you nothing here: every page, every filter and every link works with cookies switched off.
Who else sees it
Google and Microsoft, as the processors of the two analytics tools above, and Cloudflare as the host. Nobody else.
We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we run no advertising on this site at all. We would disclose data if a law or a valid legal order required it, and we would say so publicly unless the order forbade it.
Our processors are US companies and data may be processed in the United States. Transfers out of the UK or EEA are made under those providers' standard contractual clauses.
The legal basis, and how long each thing is kept
For analytics and session recording our basis is your consent where local law requires it, and otherwise our legitimate interest in knowing whether the site works. For keeping the site up and defended it is legitimate interest. For answering an email it is legitimate interest in replying to you.
- Analytics and recordings
- Held by Google and Microsoft under their own schedules, set to the shortest period each tool allows.
- Outbound click log
- Kept indefinitely as an aggregate record. It holds no personal data - no IP, no identifier, nothing traceable to a person.
- Removal requests
- Kept for as long as the listing stays down. It is the only thing that distinguishes a page removed on request from a page simply not on today's roster, and it is what stops the next reading of the roster putting it back. Ask and we will strip the name and email from that record and keep it anonymous.
- Removal rate limit
- The hashed counter is written for the day it governs and never read again after it.
- Kept while the conversation is useful, then deleted.
- Host logs
- Held briefly by Cloudflare for security and troubleshooting.
Switching it off
None of these requires asking us, and none of them breaks anything on this site.
- Turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser. We honour it as an opt-out, and Clarity stops recording when it sees it.
- Use your browser's tracking protection or a content blocker. Firefox, Safari and Brave stop most of this out of the box.
- Install Google's official opt-out add-on, which disables Google Analytics on every site you visit.
- Block cookies for this domain. Everything here works without them.
- Email us and ask, and we will confirm what has been removed.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, take a copy elsewhere, or withdraw consent.
If you are in California
You may ask what categories we collect and disclose, ask for deletion, and ask us to correct what we hold. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, so there is nothing on that front to opt out of. Asking will never get you treated differently.
How to ask
Email support@quickcounseling.com and say what you want. Because this site holds no accounts, the honest answer is usually that there is nothing to send - and we will tell you that rather than asking you to prove who you are. We reply within 30 days.
If you are in the UK or EEA and think we have got this wrong, you may complain to your national data protection authority. We would rather you came to us first.
If this site has a page about you
You can remove it yourself, now, without asking anyone. Every profile carries a removal form: pick a reason, give a name and an email address, submit it, and the page stops being published straight away. Nothing is reviewed first and nobody has to approve it.
To have it corrected instead, or to have a removal undone, email support@quickcounseling.com. Removing a page here has no effect on your BetterHelp listing, which is not ours to change.
We keep the request itself - name, email, reason - because it is what records that the page came down deliberately rather than merely being absent from a day's roster. Ask and we will anonymise it.
Children
This site is for adults. It is not directed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect anything from a child. If you believe a child has sent us something, email us and it will be deleted.
Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it and the sitemap tells search engines to come back. A change that materially affects what is collected, or who gets it, will be flagged on the site rather than slipped in.
