Clinic News and Updates from Loretta

Quick Counseling posted and updated 6 months ago

I want to start by thanking all of you for your patience and support during this difficult time. I know we are all going to struggle with the changes to our daily routines over the next weeks/months. We have decided that the best option to be safe and keep you and your families and our staff healthy is to move to an all-virtual clinic as of Friday the March 27th.

Starting March 28th all services will be performed via Telehealth platform

I am hoping that we will be able to provide some support and continuity for your child by using Telehealth.  Here is how:

  • Currently, have an appointment scheduled next week?  We will be happy to see you at the clinic.
  • Would you prefer to switch to Telehealth for next week? Please let us know ASAP (503-224-1998 or email) so that we can check to see if your insurance covers Telehealth.  The insurance companies are changing their rules daily and we are checking with them constantly. We are offering options to those whose plans deny coverage.  If your insurance company isn’t currently covering Telehealth we encourage you to call Insurance plans customer service as well as talk to your human resource to encourage the change.  You can tell them that a lapse in service could contribute to the regression of your child’s skills.

What will Telehealth look like for my child’s therapy?  Here is how:

Here is how

First, children across the country have been getting therapy services, using this method, for years with positive and tremendous results.  You will receive an email with information coverage and cost options if not covered. You will see a link in the email and all you need to do is click on the link at the time of your ‘appointment’.  You may receive an email from your therapist asking you to have some materials present for the ‘visit’.

As we move forward, we are all excited to get started with a new way to provide services to your child.  I will admit, I have been skeptical about using Telehealth especially with children, but I want to assure you that the visits we have done this past week have been very successful.  I am looking at this as the perfect opportunity for us to help problem-solve issues around transitions and routines in your child’s own environment. It will allow also be great to develop home programs based on what you have available at home and make adaptations to routines as they happen.  Many aspects of the therapy your child has been receiving in the clinic can be adapted and duplicated in your home.

I hope that you and your families stay healthy during this unusual time.  We are here for any questions or concerns you may have.  We are continuing to stay true to our mission statement, “Our mission is simple: to provide infants through adolescents and their families with appropriate, high-quality therapy in an atmosphere of optimism and respect”.
