About me

My name is Matt Semanision. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Pennsylvania. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you. My approach to therapy is honest, open communication, with mutual respect being of utmost importance. My wish for you is that you feel safe so you are able to share your thoughts, feelings and emotions. I feel the only way you will be able to get anything out of our therapeutic relationship is you and I working together on establishing mutually agreed upon goals. I will help you identify goals more clearly and guide you in making decisions. In my experience, some people are afraid to enter therapy for fear of making changes in their lives or being afraid of being told the “have to” do things. My approach will be absent of “have to” and will focus on “what do you want to do?” I employ a combination of cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psycho-dynamic and rational-emotive counseling. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. I will help you based on the information you provide me using proven, evidenced methods. Thank you and I look forward to working with you! Best, Matt
