About me

In my experience, I have noticed that my clients know themselves better than anyone which makes them the best resource when it comes to treatment. Therapy is a joint venture or partnership where both of our knowledge and skills are combined to create solutions that work best for you. A good therapeutic relationship includes multiple aspects; however, I feel the most important are trust, authenticity, freedom, and positive outcomes. My name is Kaitlin Therien, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I utilize a collaborative, individualized approach with each and every client. Working together, I encourage you to find happiness and meaning within your life. I will support and validate my clients using Solution Focused, Strength-based, Person-centered, Trauma-informed approaches, along with mindfulness techniques, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT). I have 5 plus years of experience working with people of all ages, in a variety of settings, from residential placements all the way to community based therapy. I feel it is important to establish a warm, non-judgmental, safe space for my clients to explore their thoughts and feelings with courage and a sense of curiosity. My primary interest is working with adolescents and young adults with depression, anxiety, difficulty with mood regulation, substance use, stress management, life transitions, trauma, grief, career/academic performance enhancement, and healthy relationships.
