About me

I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York for over 10 years. I have worked with individuals on concerns such as depression, self-esteem, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, and career concerns. The approach I bring includes cognitive-behavioral and solution focused therapy. We can work on the problem and thinking, but also build from strengths to find solutions. I believe this mode of counseling works well in places like this platform where want to make the most of our time which may be limited. My therapy style is calming, candid, and creative. By nature, I am compassionate and believe in treating all with respect and sensitivity. One of my favorite quotes is “Life is not about finding yourself. It is about creating yourself.” It takes courage to create for yourself a happier life, but you’ve already taken the first step. There are many therapists to choose from and I’m honored to work with you. All the best, Jeff Sobel, LMHC
