About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Clinical Addictions Specialist. My focus is to emphasize the strengths and resources for people, and to assist them in engaging behavioral changes. Through my training as a clinical social worker, I help those who experience depression, anxiety, mood/behavioral issues to lead the most happy and productive lives possible. My expertise happens to be working with those who have experienced trauma in their lives. I have the utmost compassion in working with survivors of sexual trauma and abuse. I have become trained in EMDR to assist trauma survivors, ranging from sexual abuse to natural disasters. Through EMDR, the goal is to assist those who are negatively affected and hindered by past memories of trauma, to be able to process those barriers for their growth. As an Addictions Specialist, I work with those in the midst of their substance use, as well as those on the road to recovery. I work to educate those affected by addiction, of their risk factors and their own compulsive behaviors, to effect even further behavior change. In my practice, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Reality Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, EMDR, and Solution Focused Therapy. I welcome members of the LGBTQ community, as well as transgender people. I consider myself an ally of this community.
