About me

I am a licensed mental health counselor, in the State of Washington for over 20 years. I am trained in multiple modalities: cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivation interviewing, client-centered therapy, rational-emotive therapy and hypnotherapy. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, couple’s counseling, family therapy. I specialize in working with multicultural individuals and blended families. I am a minority mental health specialist for African Americans. I have experience working with military individuals. My style of interaction emphasizes the importance of unconditional positive regard. I promote a client’s growth, healing and self-actualization. I treat all clients with dignity and respect, recognizing that therapy is a unique experience for each client. I tailor my approach to the client’s strengths and their desire for specific behavioral change. Counseling is a special journey for each person. It takes courage and motivation to seek help, working with someone you have never met before. I encourage the client to openly discuss their concerns/reflection throughout the counseling process, so that his/her journey is a good experience. I recognize that it is an honor to help clients explore change in their live, at their pace. I look forward to helping you help yourself.
