Hello! I am a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker. I have been a Social Worker since 2010. I have had experience working with a wide range of mental health concerns such as anxiety, caregiver burden, abuse/trauma, severe mental illness, major depression, and depression related to major life changes, chronic pain, grief, interpersonal struggles and discord in relationships. I have worked in acute psychiatric care settings, by bedsides in hospitals, outpatient therapy settings, and community based services settings. My skills in navigating technology to provide care are strong and I have experience with therapy in a virtual care setting. My approach is to listen first so that the opportunity to get to know you and your current experiences is large. My therapy approach will be catered to what might work best for you. It might be that we take a cognitive behavioral approach and identify patterns of thinking and behavior, analyzing how to make changes to help you reach your goals. It might be that we take an interpersonal approach so to better understand the way patterns in every day life impact mood and to focus on changes that could lead to improved moods. It might be we take a motivational approach because sometimes people simply get stuck with ambivalence and need some brief interventions to move into a more active stage of change in our lives. What you can expect is we will use best practice tools to evaluate if you are benefitting from the services being provided. You can also expect a whole health approach noticing all things impacting your life and explore all types of avenues leading to better overall health. I believe in living a life consistent with the discussions we have in our sessions. I work hard to stay healthy, make good self-care decisions and spend time with my loved ones.
