Hello! My name is Steven Nurkin and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida. I have over 10 years of experience working with as a therapist. I began my counseling career working with people diagnosed with HIV. Over my career, I have focused on helping people challenged with substance abuse and other compulsive behavioral issues, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and intimacy/relationship issues. First, I’d like to congratulate you on your decision to ask for help. Reaching out is the first step, and for most people the hardest step, on your journey of change and to leading a happier, more fulfilling life. I believe that you already have the keys to solving and resolving your own issues. After all, you are the expert on your own life. My job is to help you find the keys that you may have misplaced somewhere along the way. I do this by creating a safe, judgment-free zone to understand exactly where you’re at, both situationally and emotionally. Working together, we will then come up with a custom-tailored plan for you employing a variety of interventions which are brief, solution-focused and cognitive or cognitive-behavioral in approach.
