About me

Hi! My name is Shea and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I have lived in Texas my entire live and I have worked in education for 20 years. I completed my undergraduate degree at Houston Baptist University with a double major in Education and Spanish. I earned my graduate degree in Counseling from Lamar University. In my 3 years of counseling, I have gained a great deal of experience as a student support counselor with individuals at the high school level, with individuals on a therapeutic basis, as well as individuals in an outpatient setting. My specialties include, grief and loss, trauma, life changes, family and relationship issues, anxiety, and depression. The therapeutic approaches most reflected in my style of counseling are Solution Focused and Cognitive Behavioral. Those I have worked with have often said my calm demeanor is helpful in that they feel safe and at ease within our therapeutic relationship. I hope that you find this as well. Remember, you have accomplished the most challenging part of this…you are here!
