About me

My name is Rebecca Runkles, LPC. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Connecticut. My expertise is working with adolescent and young adult individuals that have or currently experienced trauma, abuse, addiction, sexual assault, as well as symptoms of anxiety, depression, addiction, low self-confidence, self-harm, and suicidal ideation. Additionally, I have done work with clients with intellectual disabilities, from the LGBTQ+ community, and individuals who have been incarcerated. I have worked in the school system, the criminal justice system, and in an outpatient mental health clinic. My therapeutic lens is person centered and humanistic, in which my clients are seen as the expert in their lives. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is important for client growth. I feel that therapy should be an authentic experience, and the client’s need to be listened to, valued, and understood is imperative. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental, and comfortable environment. My goal is to support clients in working towards being the best versions of themselves, and gaining new perspective on life. If you are ready to take this step I am here to support and empower you on your journey. I look forward to working with you!
