Melissa Caparitia (LMHC)

My name is Melissa Caparitia and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of New York City. I graduated from the Mercy College in 2016 with a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, with certification in Substance abuse counseling. For five years, I have worked to help families from all different backgrounds in our state to work through challenges such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and difficulties with family/relationships, childhood trauma. As a therapist I greatly enjoy helping people be their best selves and work toward achieving their goals. I understand that creating change is difficult and takes efforts. In my experience providing a safe space for people to express their feelings without the fear of judgement is very important. As a therapist I meet the client where they are, I work at the pace of the client. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change.
