About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) licensed in the state of North Carolina and I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical/Community Psychology. I have over 23 years of experience working with a wide range of issues and ages. I have worked with clients that struggle with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, substance abuse/dependency, stress management, women’s issues and self-esteem, family and relationship issues and individuals with trauma and abuse issues. I have experience working in Inpatient, Intensive Outpatient and Outpatient settings and have utilized individual, family/couples and group therapy. My counseling approach is based on compassion, empathy, respect, support and a genuine desire and goal to help individuals address any area of concern.. I will engage in a beneficial therapeutic relationship that provides opportunity for the individual to identify appropriate coping skills to address life issues and improvement in their overall mental and emotional health. My primary therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but I also utilize other therapeutic approaches including but not limited to Rational-Emotive Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy and Mindfulness. I will focus on treatment planning to address an individual’s specific needs and goals. The first step in seeking support is always the most difficult one and at times can feel a little overwhelming. However, I believe the benefits of therapy can be very rewarding and I am excited and privileged to be a part of your journey. I look forward to working with you.
