I am currently a doctoral candidate (Ph.D.) in Marriage & Family Therapy. EXPERIENCE: I have many years of counseling experience with a wide range of mental and emotional health concerns such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, career confusion/ discontentment, addiction, sexual orientation/gender issues, marital discord, family conflict, unresolved trauma, grief/loss and overall life challenges/transitions that may get in the way of us living our best lives. What this means… I approach issues, concerns, life events and the counseling process from a systems-based and strengths perspective that is attuned to “patterns of being” that may keep us stuck in our unwanted emotions, thoughts, behaviors, and experiences. I believe in focusing on one’s strengths while offering validation of feelings as we work toward desired goals—and challenging with direct honesty where necessary. In addition, I am an integrative therapist using modalities such as trauma-informed care, emotionally focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, solution-focused, reality therapy, Law of Attraction theory, positive psychology, and systems theory to name a few (this is not an exhaustive list).
