About me

Hello and welcome to BetterHelp! Seeking support can be a challenge and taking the initial step can feel out of reach at times, but bringing support into your life can also be the best gift you can give to yourself. I am glad you are here. My name is Heather Murphy and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I earned my Masters of Social Work degree from Simmons College in 2015, and my Bachelors of Arts degree in Art Therapy from Emmanuel College in 2008. Since then, I have worked in a variety of mental health care environments. Throughout this time, I continue to work closely with adolescents, adults and families. My time working in mental health has allowed me to gain experience and knowledge to work with you to find ways to get through life’s difficulties with a nurturing therapeutic relationship. My counseling style is warm and interactive. I combine my kindness, humor, creativity and objectivity in my counseling approach. My practice is rooted in psychotherapy and client-centered therapy through a humanistic lens. I bring a strong sense of trust to my clients and value the uniqueness of each person I have an opportunity to meet with. I believe that we all are deserving of realizing and expressing our truest, most authentic selves connected to our capabilities and growth. I am here to support you in developing the skills and the tools you need to navigate where you are in life -where ever that may be. Please let me know what questions you may have and I am excited and honored about the possibility of partnering with you through your journey.
