About Elliott

Hello, I’m Elliott, a licensed mental health counselor in New York, North Carolina, and South Carolina. I earned my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Western Carolina University and have eight years of experience supporting people through life’s challenges. My professional background includes community mental health, substance use treatment, HIV prevention and care, homelessness services, private practice, and telehealth. While I am from North Carolina originally, the majority of my career was practicing in New York City. I worked with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and communities around the world. These experiences deepened my ability to meet every client where they are at and provide compassionate care, despite the culture or background they come from. As my career developed I found a particularly strong niche working with LGBTQ+ clients navigating identity, sexuality, relationships, self-worth, shame, and the lasting effects of stigma. This in particular shaped my ability to help people who feel different and misunderstood by the cultures, communities, and families they come from. I warmly welcome clients of all backgrounds, sexual orientations, gender identities, and life experiences. My approach emphasizes encouraging you to find self-acceptance, while simultaneously holding you accountable to make meaningful change. Whether you are facing a difficult transition, working through painful experiences, or seeking a deeper connection with yourself, I offer a supportive space where you can feel understood and move toward meaningful change.
