About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Colorado. The majority of my experience stems from working with high school students within a school setting. In my role as a high school counselor I helped students with their academic, social/emotional, and post-secondary needs. My past experience also includes working with middle school students in the school setting. In addition, I am an adjunct professor at the University of Northern Colorado. My role at the university includes teaching a variety of courses, and supervision of students both in the school and clinical settings. I am a Colorado Native and attended Colorado State University where I earned a Master’s Degree in School Counseling and a PhD in Education and Human Resource Studies. I am a retired educator with 30 years in the field. However, I am still a part-time adjunct professor at UNC. I believe my role as a counselor is to partner with you, my client, as you navigate through presenting concerns. I want to hear your story and help you set meaningful and achievable goals. As you work through whatever is impeding your ability to be where you want to be, I will be there to support you. I approach the counseling relationship with compassion, empathy, and sensitivity. I incorporate a variety of counseling theory into my practice as a professional counselor including, but not limited to, Solution Focused, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Brief Therapy. I look forward to partnering with you, and I am excited that you took the first step toward personal growth, and leading a productive and meaningful life.
