Therapy is a process of growth and self-discovery. In my therapy sessions, I promote behavioral transformation by encouraging a positive outlook and the adoption of new attitudes and feelings. I implement effective psychotherapy methods to instill self-understanding among individuals and encourage them to adopt new attitudes and feelings towards life situations. From small scale circumstances, to traumatic experiences – my services are personalized to suit everyone’s needs. More about me: I completed my Master of Arts in Counseling in 2005, and since that time have become a National Certified Counselor. I have obtained my Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) credentials in the state of Georgia, Tennessee, and Connecticut. The Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) credential in the state of Maryland. My background includes serving children, individuals and families through mostly community agency settings and private practice. I have extensive knowledge and experience in substance use issues, depression, anxiety, family conflict, trauma focused therapies and autism. I was raised in a military family and was a military spouse. I understand circumstances surrounding living in a military family and working with individuals that have experienced trauma using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). I also use other methods of counseling that include mindfulness training, ERP for OCD, solution focused and brief therapy models.
