At Kentucky Protection and Advocacy, we believe in the concept of protection and advocacy for all. We strive to ensure that everyone is treated with dignity, respect, and equal opportunities in an inclusive society. Our vision is to create a just society where people of all abilities are valued and are able to participate in a unified and integrated community. Our mission began with Geraldo Rivera’s investigative reporting for the ABC News affiliate in New York City, which exposed the abuse, neglect, and lack of programming at Willowbrook, a state institution for people with intellectual disabilities on Staten Island. Our mission is to continue to protect and advocate for those who are vulnerable and marginalized.
