About me

Hi. My name is Victor Blythe, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Washington, D.C. and Maryland. I have over 25 years of experience working in the Mental Health field, while providing Psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families for close to 20 years. Also, I spent 7 years in the Psychiatry Department at Children’s National Medical Center, providing Psychiatric assessments in the Emergency Room to young people in mental health crisis. This experience helped me to gain a great understanding of the mental health needs of these individuals. I have provided Therapy with clients who have a wide range of concerns including Depression, Anxiety, Mood Disorders, Schizophrenia, Adjustment Disorders, Life and Career Changes, ADHD, Relationship Issues, plus Sexual Orientation and Sexuality Issues. My Psychotherapeutic approach draws from a broad range of experience and know how. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is the treatment modality I utilize most frequently in Therapy with some aspects of Psychodynamic Technique. Additionally, I often employ Solution Focused Therapy plus Client-Centered Therapeutic techniques to address the specific needs of each individual. I am very focused on the needs and concerns of my clients during our journey together. Working with clients as they find solutions to their life challenges is one of my greatest strength and passion.
