About me

Hello. My name is Vaneka Campbell and I have 16 years of counseling experience. I worked 16 years in the behavioral health field with mentally ill/substance abuse populations. I currently work on a military base as a Military and Family Life Counselor, counseling service members and their families. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns, such as Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, Anxiety, PTSD, Personality Disorder, substance abuse, relationships, work/life balance issues, employment concerns, anger management, deployment and reintegration, stress management, conflict resolution, decision-making, and adjustment issues. My counseling style is laid back, warm, non-judgmental, and meeting individuals where they are comfortable to help toward a better life. I believe that the counselor can help lead the counselee to success as long as both are committed to the common goal. Effort must be made during and outside of sessions to achieve progress. Patience and understanding are key as the rate of progress may be slow in some areas, and discomfort may occur at times throughout the change process, but that means change is happening! My primary treatment approaches includes cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution focused therapy. Sessions may range from 30-50 minutes. I currently work another job full-time and will respond to any messages as soon as possible, within a 24 hour time frame. Due to my current schedule, open slots are available evenings and Saturdays to book live chat, phone, and video sessions. I look forward to working with you, having taken this courageous step toward a more satisfying life.
