About me

Hello! My name is Takesha and I earned my MS.Ed in Counseling from Old Dominion University. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina. I have been a professional counselor for 12 years and worked in a variety of settings with diverse populations. I have worked with adolescents in schools, adults in community settings, and families as an intensive in-home clinician. Over the years, I have served a wide variety of people and enjoy motivating others to make positive changes in their journey to personal growth and discovery. I view therapy as a collaborative relationship that focuses on the client. I utilize a humanistic, non-judgemental approach drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused, Person Centered, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy frameworks. I am passionate about helping others navigate through issues related to anxiety, depression, stress management, life transitions, interpersonal relationships, mindfulness, self compassion, academia, and career to name a few. I welcome the opportunity to offer a safe and comfortable environment for all and am dedicated to supporting the unique experiences of marginalized populations.
