About me

I am a licensed clinical psychologist working primarily in the greater Richmond, Virginia area. I earned my Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree from the Virginia Consortium for Professional Psychology. My clinical experiences include working as a staff psychologist in the US Navy, working in full-time private practice for over 25 years, consulting with local colleges and universities on ADHD, learning, and psychological disabilities, consulting with athletes and athletic teams at the high school, college, and professional levels, and working as a staff psychologist at a selective private university. I enjoy working with older teenagers and adults on issues related to depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, divorce, self-esteem and self-confidence, career issues, ADHD and learning disability accommodations, and sports performance enhancement. I use a collaborative, integrative approach with my clients that encompasses cognitive behavior therapies, solution-focused interventions, and client-centered strategies. I have been married for over 38 years, have two grown sons, and two grand-daughters. I do volunteer work at the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, Virginia.
