About Sandra

Hello, I’m Sandra A. Butler, MA, LPC. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 18 years of experience helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges and move toward healing, growth, and greater emotional well-being. I believe therapy should be a safe and supportive space where you can be yourself without fear of judgment. Life can sometimes leave us feeling overwhelmed, anxious, discouraged, stuck, or uncertain about what to do next. You do not have to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. Sometimes the first step is simply having a place where you can talk openly, feel heard, and begin making sense of what you are experiencing. Throughout my career, I have worked with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, ADHD, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, family conflict, life transitions, women’s issues, parenting concerns, and high-conflict co-parenting situations. I also have extensive experience working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. My therapeutic style is warm, compassionate, collaborative, and practical. I believe that you are the expert on your own life, while my role is to help you recognize patterns, understand how past experiences may be affecting your present, develop healthier coping strategies, and identify realistic steps toward the changes you want to make. My approach is integrative and tailored to the needs of each client. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, trauma-informed approaches, strength-based interventions, and EMDR-informed techniques. When desired by the client, I am also comfortable incorporating faith and spirituality into the therapeutic process. I especially enjoy helping people understand the connection between their experiences, emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. Whether you are struggling with trauma from your past, difficulty setting boundaries, people-pleasing, relationship problems, grief, anxiety, depression, or simply feeling stuck, our work together will focus not only on understanding what happened to you, but also on helping you determine where you want to go from here. I believe healing does not mean that your past never happened. It means that your past no longer has to determine your future. Reaching out for therapy can feel uncomfortable, particularly when you are accustomed to handling things on your own or being the person everyone else depends on. My goal is to meet you where you are, help you identify your strengths, and work alongside you as you create meaningful and sustainable change. If you are ready to begin that journey, I would be honored to walk alongside you. Read more Show less
