About me

I am licensed in CT as a Professional Counselor and Alcohol and Drug Counselor for over 30 years. I have been a Betterhelp therapist part time basis for the past two years. I have experience in counseling in a variety of settings, hospitals, community non-profits, family services and the state. I have been a clinical supervisor and program director with expertise in implementing evidence-based practices in substance use disorders, mental health and couples therapy. I have worked with families related to trauma, substance use and recovery. Much of counseling experience have been working with individuals, families, trauma and recovery. I am a private consultant to federal/state governments and tribes on improving the quality of mental health and addiction recovery services. I am a board member on Multi-Dimensional Family Therapy Inc. I retired from the State of CT Department of Children and Families over ten years ago where I was the Director of Substance Abuse Services. I provided clinical consultation to child welfare and juvenile justice. My counseling approach is trauma informed and client centered. I use evidence based interventuons such as motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, structural/strategic family therapy, and other practices.
