About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both Vermont and Michigan providing client-centered therapy to teens, adults, couples, and families. I am experienced in working with a variety of individual issues and diagnoses including treating thought disorders, mood disorders, emotional dysregulation, relationship issues and addictions. I draw from a variety of interventions & constructs including cognitive behavioral therapy, emotionally focused therapy, relationship therapy and family systems theory. I am a native Michigander born and raised in Ann Arbor, MI and now lives in Howell with his wife and three children. After earning a Bachelors degree in Child Development and Family Studies from Purdue University I pursued a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Michigan. Following my masters degree I have pursued licensure in Social Work and hold a specialty license as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor in Vermont. During my career as a Social Worker I have dedicated myself to on-going study and specialty training in a wide-range of therapeutic interventions including Trauma Informed interventions, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, motivational interviewing and enhancement mindfulness-based stress reduction. I lean towards strength-based interventions with clients and believes in the strength and resiliency of the individuals I works with. Typically I develop a relational approach with clients that will both meet you where you’re at and challenge you to address your core issues and needs. I currently work for a wilderness therapy program as a parent program therapist. Throughout my career I have worked in outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment facilities providing individual, family and group therapy to both adolescents and adults.
