Hello and congratulations on taking the first step towards a better you! My name is Paulina and I am a licensed therapist in the state of Florida. I know that starting this process can be difficult and scary and I’m here to tell you it’s okay to feel that way. Change and growth is hard even if we know the rewards can be great. I began my education in the counseling field after a series of life events derailed my original career and education plans. After working with a mental health professional during that transition, I quickly learned that a career in the counseling field is where I belonged. I enrolled in the nationally accredited Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Florida Atlantic University and graduated with my Master’s in Education in 2015. I have worked with a variety of counseling issues including domestic violence, severe mental illness, behavioral and chemical addictions, and LGBT related issues. These experiences allowed me to develop my counseling skills, cultural awareness, and understanding of the complexities of being human. Currently I specialize in life transitions, identity and self-esteem issues, unresolved trauma, relationship issues, and anxiety. The main focus of my counseling is the patterns we develop throughout our lives that keep us stuck. We all have them and it can feel impossible to address them on our own. I’m here to guide you as you start understanding what those patterns are, where they come from, and how you get unstuck. While a lot of my work focuses on patterns, I also believe in taking a holistic approach as I feel the way we take care of ourselves mentally, physically, and spiritually plays a huge role in our daily feelings and experiences. The process of self-growth is an incredible journey and I look forward to going on it with you!
