About me

Life transitions can be difficult to navigate on your own. Sometimes you need someone to talk to. Relationships, loss and grief, past traumatic experiences, and depression all bring emotions that can be overwhelming. Over time, negative coping behaviors and destructive patterns may have developed and now stand in the way of your goals and development. As a therapist, Neela is focused on healing and personal growth. Using an integrative approach to therapy, Neela will partner with you to discuss your intentions for therapy, and together develop a treatment plan to reach your personal and emotional goals and uncover new ways of thinking along with coping skills that can empower a positive change in you and your life. Neela draws from various techniques, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to challenge your thought processes and find alternate behaviors; mindfulness, which creates a space to focus on your emotions and thoughts without judgment; solution-focused therapy places an emphasis on your future as well as your strengths, skills and resources; and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which allows you to begin to heal from past traumatic events and heal psychological scars. Neela has worked in an inpatient treatment setting for 3.5 years with a focus on women’s issues. Neela has a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is a Licensed Professional Counselor with the Mental Health Service Provider designation (LPC-MHSP).
