I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arkansas with 10+ years of counseling experience. My practice focuses on helping clients overcome difficult life challenges. This includes trauma, substance abuse, and difficulties managing emotions. I focus on developing a growth mindset in order to enable success in achieving life goals. During sessions, I encourage focus on self exploration and developing skills that will help you better understand and manage your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Through this process of exploration and skills development you will regain a sense of purpose and control over your life. Some of the specific problems I have helped with are PTSD, depression, anxiety, substance and alcohol abuse, navigating life transitions, resolving grief, improving relationships, developing emotional skills, and coping with psychosis. My approach to therapy is an integration of cognitive-behavioral and person centered theories. Drawing on these approaches I seek to understand my client’s strengths, abilities, interests, and challenges, and help them explore the relationships between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing the support needed to sustain change. I believe we all have the ability to create meaningful, satisfying lives for ourselves, even in the face of adversity. The time we spend together will center on fostering insight into your beliefs, emotions, thoughts, and impulses. The very center of my counseling approach is to help those I serve find a satisfying life full of meaning. This can be hard work. You may face difficult choices and uncomfortable feelings. However, you can make incredible changes to move you towards the life you want. Change is possible for you!
