About Mary

Hello! So glad you decided to stop by! I am Jackie Downie, Licensed Clinical Social Worker. You are on your first step on your journey. Some are looking for self-improvement, some are searching for ways to handle anxiety and depression, some are hoping for a new path out of past challenges. I have over twenty years of experience in counseling and therapy. I have experience in getting people where they want to go in their lives. I would love to be there for you! When I work with people, I start with what has worked for you in the past that we can bring forward again in your present challenges. Often people have overlooked their own positive qualities or ideas that can make a big difference. Together we will explore what from your past may be holding you back, and examine and think through new ways to think about your current life and situations. You might start with some new thoughts and behaviors that will create positive change. I have worked with people experiencing anxiety, depression, attention challenges, trauma from childhood and teen years and trauma from more recent events. I have helped parents of kids of all ages and people in trouble at work. I have found ways for people who are extremely stressed by coworkers or managers to hang on and actually make their work lives better. I have helped those who have lost a special person to handle the phases of grief. Each person is an individual, with their own specific issues that they face in their lives that might be similar to others, but can never be exactly the same as another person. I am happy you reached out here. You will find the support and assistance you deserve. Hope to talk with you soon! Read more Show less
