Mary Beckman

Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Oregon and have been working in the mental health field for over 12 years. My approach to therapy is strengths based and solution focused. I know this is a difficult time in your life, and I am here to bear witness to your challenges as well as your strengths. I believe in focusing on problem solving and validating to move you from a ‘stuck’ place in your life. I also strongly believe that therapy only works when the client and therapist have a relationship of trust and understanding. It is my job to really ‘get you’ and to validate your personal experience. I have had experience in multiple different settings including individual, couples, family and group therapy. I have worked with trauma, self-esteem, PTSD, addictions, eating disorders, depression, anxiety and non-clinical life stressors. I have experience in grief and loss work, transitional work and how to create positive change in your life. My previous clinical experience includes working with people of all ages and believe in meeting the client where they are at. I am a trained DBT therapist and addictions counselor with past experience in eating disorders. I have worked as a grief and bereavement counselor with hospice as well.
