About Martha

I am a mental health counselor licensed in Florida with over 18 years of experience and have worked in a variety of settings and management capacities. I earned a bachelors degree in Psychology from Florida Atlantic University and a masters degree from Nova Southeastern University. I hold the following credentials LMHC, MCAP, ACS, CGAC and I am a clinical member of the American Counseling Association, the Dialectical Behavior Therapy National Certification and Accreditation Association and EMDRIA as an approved provider respectively. The primary focus of my practice has been in addictions and co-occurring conditions working both with adolescents and adults; helping to manage all that accompanies a substance-related or addictive disorder. However I have worked with diverse populations and issues and am accustomed to working with clients in individual, family and group settings. I have helped clients successfully address a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, family conflicts, career challenges, gender identity and LGBTQI+ to name a few. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse. My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. I practice a blended, technically eclectic model of evidence-based therapies with strengths-based philosophies. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, humanistic, solution focused counseling. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you. I look forward to working with you! Read more Show less
