About MaDonna

I am licensed in Florida with 17 years of professional work experience in the field of Medical Social Work. I have experience in helping clients coping with grief and loss and have specific training in the field of Thanatology (the study of death and dying). I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths and emotional resources that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier approach to what life has presented to you and to take the first steps toward taking charge. I can be here to support & empower you during that journey. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been working primarily with clients who are focused on learning to cope with a medical diagnosis of either a chronic illness or terminal illness. This includes walking with clients and families through the dying process and into death. When it comes to coping with the changes associated with illness things are oftentimes counterintuitive and the best approach is sometimes just the opposite of what you may be thinking is the right thing to do. I have found that planning for the worst while hoping for the best is the approach I stand behind and utilize throughout my process with clients. Planning for death even following a new diagnosis can get those issues and questions answered and out of the way. One can then fully invest in the now and treatment of their disease. To fully commit to fighting the war that is happening within the body and to work to plan to win that war. Completing end-of- life planning from the start will free you to work backward to arrive exactly at where you are and need to be. Read more Show less
