About me

My name is Lydia Peters, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Virginia. I earned my Masters of Social Work degree from Adelphi University. I’ve worked in many different settings with different populations. I possess a vast amount of experience with the elderly along with individuals living with developmental disability, traumatic brain injury (TBI), mental illness, chemically addiction, homelessness, individual’s accused of sexual offense or sexually deviant behaviors , children identified as medically frail, adults admitted to acute medicine & Veterans. My experience has taught me that the most important aspect of counseling is building connection in order to share guidance through difficult situations. A healthy therapeutic alliance brings forth a different perspective & additional support. I believe it’s very important to be open-minded and non-judgmental in my role as a therapist. I will continuously honor that role , respect confidentiality and support an open and honest working relationship. Let’s work together towards your success.
