About me

Hello. My name is Kirk Guanco and I am an easy going, kind and caring therapist. I am a social worker (LMSW) by trade and I’m credentialed as a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Addictions Counselor (CAADC) in the state of Michigan. I attended the University of Michigan School of Social Work. I have many years of experience working with people with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety and stress, substance use, grief and loss, relationship issues, first generation American issues, and life transitions. I’ve worked with various at risk populations and spent the last several years working with individuals 18 years and older in an outpatient counseling setting. I value establishing a respectful and genuine relationship, and I tailor my interventions to the people I work with. I tend to use CBT, Narrative, Mindfulness, Person-Centered and Motivation Interviewing approaches. I look forward to working with you.
