About me

My name is Kathleen Rushing. I graduated in 2004 with a Master’s Degree in Counseling from the University of Houston- Victoria. It is has always been my passion in life to help others in their time of need. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor ( LPC) for 12 years and a Certified School Counselor for 17 years. I have work with individual, families, and couples achieve balance and understanding in their life and relationships. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, you can expect to receive therapy based on theories that are established and researched to be effective for you mental health needs. I believe in the human spirit and my client’s ability to find balance and structure in their life. In a therapeutic relationship, you can expect me to be attentive, caring, and non-judgmental while working on your mental health concerns. My therapeutic approach to working with clients is using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). CBT is a form of talk therapy that helps clients become aware of inaccurate or negative thinking and view personal challenges in life in a clear, effective manner. You can expect us to work on exploring and rationalizing negative thoughts and establish therapeutic goals to help you cope with your feelings and achieve personal goals. I look forward to working with you..
