About Karen
Hello! “Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it” Helen Keller In life there are challenges faced that the help of friends, relatives or well – meaning persons are solicited… and then there are struggles that the assistance of a trained professional counselor is best. If you are ready to learn more about yourself and how all of what you have experienced contributes to the outcomes you have now – let me help you unpack and reposition your baggage to decide what to take on your journey moving forward. I have been a licensed professional counselor in the state of South Carolina for the past six (6) years; however, my counseling experience spans over 30 years having worked with youths and parents in the juvenile justice and school systems. I now specialize in working with adults who have unresolved traumas and issues from childhood and adolescent years which may be causing current issues of depression, family conflict, relationship issues, anger and or poor self esteem. In all issues there is a rooted foundation resulting in the results we encounter. This is explored in psychodynamic therapy. It is my intention to meet you where you are, assist you in the hurdles you will face to get you to the goals you have for yourself. I also utilize the styles of cognitive-behavior; existential; solution-focus and client-centered therapy methods. The struggle you are in today is developing the strength you need for tomorrow. If you are ready to be the person you want to be, let’s get to work - I aim to empower you! Read more Show less
