About Jerry
I am a licensed professional counselor and a national certified counselor. I am licensed in the state of Mississippi. My Master’s degree is from Liberty University. My classroom and clinical training were based on a Christian world-view. I am happy to incorporate this into my sessions if the client should so desire. I am client-centered and I do not allow myself to be judgmental. I use cognitive behavioral therapy to help clients reframe their problems into something more manageable. I am also EMDR trained and use this technique with substance abuse problems and trauma issues. In addition to my professional training, I think my life experience helps me understand the things that life sometimes uses to slap us in the face, as well as the pain that usually follows. Nowhere is this more important that in dealing with family and relationship problems. As a Christian I have to ask myself if I am listening to the definitions and the labels the world assigns me, or if I am listening to what the all-powerful and loving God of all creation says about me. Do I really have the faith to trust God for what I need or do I just talk-the-talk when I am around the church congregation? I think when we look for affirmation in God and how he views us we also find the peace that we so desperately seek. I would really like to help you do just that. I think that change is the hardest thing in life. I think change is hard because we first have to admit that there are better ways to do things than the ways we used in the past. I admire anyone with the courage to change. If you need help in making changes, I’d be honor to be the one to help you. Read more Show less
