About Jennifer
Hello! My name is Jenn and I am a licensed professional counselor (LCPC) in the state of Maryland. I have had over 15 years experience working in the mental health field. I have worked in a variety of settings including residential, day programs, outpatient, in-home, and addictions. Although that seems like a lot, all it really means is I have experience working with a broad range and severity of clinical issues. I have the most experience working with addictions, anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, and anger management. I also have experience working with bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorders and trauma. I use a person-centered integrative approach in treatment. This means I begin where you are and tailor the treatment approach to your needs while being sensitive to how your life choices impact your experience. I primarily use evidence-based techniques including cognitive-behavioral therapy, Dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused counseling. Additionally, I would like to highlight that our therapeutic relationship and sessions feature a no judgement zone. Therapy should be a place where you feel safe and comfortable with sharing thoughts, feelings, and experiences without fear of being judged. I would describe my style as warm and supportive, and I am ready to help you tackle your struggles head-on. Collaboration is important, together we can work on establishing concrete realistic goals and steps for you to help overcome your current problems. Mental health is a journey, and while you may feel lost now, that is not an indication of how your life will continue. It takes a lot of strength and will power to work towards a more fulfilling and happier life, if you are ready to take the next step, I’m here to support and empower you. Read more Show less
