Hello! My name is Ivy and welcome to BetterHelp! Finding a therapist can be somewhat of an overwhelming experience for some and I do believe it is important that you find the right fit for you, as I have also been down this road myself and it took me some time to find the right fit too! As a therapist, I believe it is a privilege to be invited into someone’s journey. I hope to provide a space for you that feels safe, supportive, and non-judgmental, where you feel heard. This will hopefully allow you to make progress during our time together. A little background on me- I am a Licensed Professional Counselor through the state of Michigan. I have been working in the field of mental health for approximately ten years with a diverse group of individuals of all ages from varying backgrounds and circumstances. I have experience working with children and families, adolescents, and adults with pervasive mental illness, such as schizophrenia. I have also worked with victims/survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault. My therapeutic approach really depends on you and your identified needs. I believe attachment style and unresolved trauma can play a large role in our relationship with ourselves and others and symptoms of depression and anxiety may be a secondary result. I believe in getting to the root of the issue, as this is where I believe healing can begin. I hope that you feel safe to reach out with any questions you might have for me. And please know that it is ok if you decide that I am not the right fit for you, as I want you to work with someone who you feel comfortable sitting alongside.
