About Hedlun
I have been a licensed professional counselor in Michigan for over 20 years. I have worked with clients on a range of concerns including self-fulfillment, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and parenting problems. My therapy style is both patient and action oriented, both accepting and explorative. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I believe it is important to normalize behavior and provide alternative perspectives. I tactfully infuse humor when possible and therapeutically effective. My approach combines the patience and empathy of client centered therapy when you need a sounding board with the results oriented approach of cognitive-behavioral or solution-focused therapy when you are seeking a change in your life. We will work together to establish expectations and a treatment plan to meet your individual therapeutic needs. If you stand too far away from a large painting, you cannot appreciate the individual brushstrokes that brought it to life. Yet if you stand too close, you cannot appreciate the image in its entirety. It can be very difficult to recognize the limits of our own perspective.
