About Hazel

I am a licensed clinical social worker with over thirty years of experience in the social work field. I have worked with families, children, parents, and individuals. I have an extensive background in child welfare services and in special education, working with children with special needs and their families. I have worked in hospitals and with adults in mental health rehabilitation. I am currently employed with the Department of Veterans' Affairs. Many of the veterans served in my program suffer from PTSD, depression, anxiety or addictions. I have come to believe over many years of practice that it is critical to help clients express and clarify their goals and to identify the barriers to reaching those goals. Of equal importance is helping clients identify and build upon their strengths. Often this means learning about available resources to assist them. In summary, my approach as a clinical social worker is to help clients understand and meet their personal life goals, using all the resources available to them. Read more Show less
