About Elena
About me ... I grew up in a small town in Southern New Jersey. I was fortunate enough to have extensive extended family all within 20 minutes of each other. I grew up playing competitive soccer. I enjoy camping, art, watching documentaries, and reading. I love to learn! My junior year of high school, I went on my first mission trip to the Dominican Republic - this trip sparked my passion for helping others. I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from Widener University, and I hold a Clinical License in Social Work (LISW-CP). My Philosophy... My professional background has been focused on helping people reach their individual goals by identifying and changing unhelpful thought patterns, reconciling relationships, and aiding clients in developing healthy problem-solving skills and effective communication techniques. I believe it is vital to the therapeutic process to honor the individual as unique and to tailor my therapeutic approach accordingly. I take a holistic lens approach that considers a person’s biological, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects. I use this holistic assessment to identify the client’s specific needs, strengths, and goals.
