About Dr.
My name is Hiza Jackson-Price, and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor as well as a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist licensed in North Carolina with over 19 years of experience working as a Mental Health Counselor, Addictions Therapist and Victim Advocate. I have worked with clients with a broad range of concerns including those individuals who have suffered domestic and/or sexual abuse or who have experienced other traumatic events, as well as individuals suffering from mood and anxiety disorders. Additionally, I have provided individual and group counseling to individuals who are chemically dependent. My experience also includes working with families, couples, high risk adolescent youth and their families, as well as the active-duty military and Veteran population. My counseling style is empathic and interactive. I believe the counseling experience is a deeply personal interaction between two people in which the most crucial aspects of this relationship are trust, respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. Counseling is a joint effort that cannot be successful without your hard work, energy, and courage. I practice client-centered and cognitive-behavioral as well as motivational interviewing and solution-focused counseling approaches because I believe that a sense of self understanding and acceptance is essential in all situations, including understanding how our past experiences have shaped the way we view ourselves, as well as how we understand relating to others.
