About Desarae

A big believer in taking back control of one’s life, I focus on offering useful feedback and support to help address various life challenges. I use a compassionate and empathic approach in meeting clients where they are and delivering appropriate interventions and strategies throughout the counseling process. I strive to teach individuals to develop and use skills to cope with their individual setbacks in order to live healthy and fulfilling lives. A transplant from the northeast, I moved to Jacksonville in 2002 for undergraduate studies. I obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Jacksonville University in 2006 and a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University in 2011. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and Qualified Supervisor in Florida. I have worked in a multitude of environments and with people in various stages of their lives. I am well experienced in dealing with crisis situations as well as day to day life issues.
