About me

I work to empower individuals and couples towards being authentic whole beings. I use a strengths based approach to help find the silver lining. Research has shown that physical mental emotional and spiritual well-being all play equally significant roles and our livelihood. Therefore I have made the holistic approach my central modality when it comes to my therapy. I have worked with couples and individuals at a holistic Counseling Center in Oakland California and I currently work with individuals in a community-based setting who have severe persistent mental illness such as bipolar disorder schizophrenia depression and PTSD. I have 6 years of experience with homeless populations which include people dealing with co-occurring disorders, those who are in their teens, the veterans and the elderly. This experience has allowed me to gain insight into trauma and extreme stress and how to assist with resources and develop problem solving skills. I have received extensive training and experience with DBT, CBT, harm reduction motivational interviewing communication skills and trauma-informed care. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist and I received my psychology degree from Sonoma State University. I received my master’s degree from John F Kennedy University. My personal hobbies include interest in nature based practices martial arts nutrition and exercise. I currently work for the state hospital for the forensic population. Recently became certified as a Teletherapist. Completed certification in: Janina Fisher’s Integrative approach to treating trauma: Blending IFS, Sensiorimotor, Mindfulness, Psychoeducation and more. Completed certification in: Janina Fishers Chronic Suicidality and Self-destructive Behavior Currently enrolled in Sarah Peyton’s Empathy Brain series for Relational Skills and Building Intimacy through Resonance
