About me

My name is Christy Damrath and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia. I earned my BSW and MSW from Virginia Commonwealth University. Since 2012 I have worked with adult clients experiencing mental illnesses, first in a community based setting and then in an outpatient setting. I have worked with clients experiencing Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Grief and Loss, ADD/ADHD, and Borderline Personality Disorder. I work to build a genuine rapport with clients from the beginning of the first session. I enjoy listening to clients, asking questions, and helping clients identify their goals and work towards reaching their potential. During sessions, I typically use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness approaches to assist clients with processing their thoughts and feelings and to practice the use of healthy coping skills. I look forward to meeting you and working together with you soon.
