I am a mental health counselor licensed in Florida working as a therapist with clients coping with a breadth of concerns. I have worked with clients with concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, addictions, divorce and separation, bipolar disorder, grief and trauma. I have also worked in various treatment modalities such as outpatient, residential, in-home, and telehealth. My counseling style is warm yet direct. I believe that the counseling relationship is one in which the therapist and client can be honest with one another and open to feedback from one another. I believe that my role is to be an agent of change by assisting you in identifying your goals and making progress towards them. I believe in treating everyone with respect, compassion and in a non-judgmental manner. My approach is intentionally integrative because each client’s needs are different, and I believe that a cookie cutter approach to therapy is counterproductive. Regarding therapeutic orientations, I tend to combine cognitive-behavioral and rational emotive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, with a humanistic approach. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs and sincerely value your feedback regarding the interventions and approach that we decide to take. Regarding couples counseling, I tend to utilize the Gottman method and solution-focused approaches in order to assist the couple in identifying the core issues causing the discord or dysfunction and like to begin with a practical approach. It takes courage and allowing oneself to be vulnerable to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change.
