I’m a clinical social worker, licensed in Florida, and I’ve been working as a therapist for 20 years. I have primarily focused on working with children, teens and their adults. Some of my favorite people are Moms who are trying to Do Better and Dads who can’t seem to connect with the people they love so much. I am particularly great at helping adults find ways to fall in love with their Little People (again). I am super comfortable wading through sadness, worry or anger/frustration until a person rediscovers their joy and confidence. I am often sought out by families with gifted or high-achieving kids because those folks have a unique set of needs with which I am very familiar. As a practitioner, I am astute, respectful and funny. It doesn’t take me very long to “get it” and I will easily pick up on subtleties in complex situations. I have a deep, abiding respect for each person’s path (whatever that may be) and I honor each person’s intuition and “gut feeling” as they shift and grow. I am also pretty funny- not only because laughter is good for the soul, but because I feel therapy should be a joyful practice. I am NOT a patient, warm and fuzzy therapist; I’m more of a challenge-loving, think-outside-the-box and let’s Go-For-It kinda therapist. I would consider my approach client-centered and solution-focused, though I love me some Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and I think there is great value in the Existential theories.
